What is a week of summer camp like? At Camp Blue Heron, in the Coastal Empire Council of Georgia this is a good example. We hold the belief that no leader's guide (which must be printed months before camp starts) can predict the last minute changes, the guest speakers, etc. which always do occur at a summer camp. If you will check the sample leader's guide upload of Jan 30th you will note that it constantly refers to a master schedule of events. Here it is!!!
By custom designing a schedule for each week of camp and mailing it out 10 days before arrival a troop will have much more accurate information. The leader's guide mentions activities and events but does not attempt to provide times or locations for them. Most camps don't do this, we thought the plan worked well for us.
When troops checkin in they got this sheet (it looks great in Works printed with all of the formats intact and printed on Art Handprints specialty paper from Papers Direct. The promotion really paid off and the descriptions give clues to many of the unique and innovative methods for teaching some of the classes offered in this department.
